Salm wins girls individual title; Winneconne boys second at invite

Iola-Scandinavia Invite: Sam Engel finished second and Luke Kubasta was third to lead the Winneconne boys to a second-place finish at the 13-team meet.

The Wolves finished with the same number of points as Waupaca, 77, but took second on a tiebreaker. Freedom won the meet with 45 points.

The Winneconne girls finished sixth overall but sophomore Abi Salm was the individual champion with a time of 16:09. She finished more that 16 seconds ahead of the field

Santana Herbst was the next Wolves’ finisher in 18th place.
