Junior attackman Bruno Setteducati scored the game-winning goal with 1:42 left in double overtime as the Wall boys lacrosse team edged Brick Memorial, 8-7, in a nondivisional game Friday.

The goal was Setteducati’s second of the game and he also had one assist. Junior attackman Kyle McDonough finished with a team-high four goals and had one assist. Junior attackman Kyle Critchlow added two goals and junior goalie Hunter Kaplan had 22 saves for the Crimson Knights (2-0).

Senior attackman Dan Bury had two goals and one assist and senior midfielder Ryan Calmon and junior midfielder Griffen Carney each had one goal and two assists for the Mustangs (1-1). Goalie Chris VanBrunt had 24 saves.

TR EAST 13, RB CATHOLIC 9: Pete Cagno scored four goals, including the 100th point of his career, as the Raiders (1-1) defeated the Caseys (0-2) in a nondivisional game.

Cagno finished with four goals and now has 103 career points. Nolan Gottshall added three goals and four assists and goalie Zack Roselli made 10 saves.

Red Bank Catholic’s Tim Barile had three goals, Cal Whaley had two goals and Chris Whitlock had two goals and two assists. Goalie Tyler Leonard made eight saves.

MANASQUAN 10, RED BANK 8: Joe Murphy scored two of his three goals in the fourth quarter and Blaine Birch finished with five goals as the Warriors (2-0) defeated the Bucs (1-1) in a nondivisional game.

JD Kuper had two goals and one assist and Jack Farrell made eight saves for Manasquan.

Red Bank’s Jake Smolokoff and Chris Manning each had two goals. Max Paris added one goal and two assists and John Pierce had seven saves.


POINT BORO 12, LONG BRANCH 11: With three seconds remaining in regulation and the game tied at 11, Point Boro’s Kiera O’Gorman delivered a shot from a free position 25 feet out that found its way to the back of the cage to lift the Panthers (1-1) over the Green Wave (0-3) in a Class B North matchup.

The goal was O’Gorman’s lone goal of the game as the Panthers were led in scoring by Kristina Caprio, who collected five goals, and Jamie Gilmore, who scored one goal in each half.

Kim Davis and Lexi Meyer led Long Branch’s offensive surge with four goals apiece while Jacinta Santos added three goals.

Tara Ward stopped 16 shots to preserve the Point Boro victory.

SHORE 14, RANNEY 0: Shore senior Claudia LaMarca recorded the 100th goal of her career with a first-half goal off a one-on-one drive from short range as the Blue Devils (1-1, 1-0) rolled past the Panthers in a Class A Central game.

The goal was LaMarca’s fourth of the game, and Monmouth University-bound midfielder added a fifth goal to give her 101 career goals.

Lauren Britton also netted five goals for Shore.

PINELANDS 10, BARNEGAT 9: Senior midfielder Ali Herbert scored with 1:29 left in the second half to lift the Wildcats (1-1) over the Bengals (0-3) in a Class B South matchup.

Herbert totaled six goals, including four in the second half to help erase a 5-4 halftime defecit. The Wildcats’ Janet George also neeted a pair of goals.


TR SOUTH 2, MANCHESTER 0: Joe Esposito’s 20 assists and two blocks propelled the host Indians (3-1) past the Hawks (0-1) in non-divisional action.

Alex Purpuro and Trevor Signorino added five kills and two blocks each. Teammate Brian Sutera finished with six kills and two digs.

Blake Borsetti paced Manchester with four kills and four assists. Doug DeSimone put up five kills and two digs and Ali Yildirim added seven digs.
