Shreveport to honor area state champions

By

Shreveport-area high schools produced multiple state champions in the past school year.

Those champions, including an Evangel baseball team that won the Class 2A state title last Saturday in Monroe, will be recognized Tuesday at 3 p.m. by Shreveport mayor Cedric Glover and the city council.

Booker T. Washington, Calvary, Huntington, Loyola and Southwood, which won the Class 5A girls basketball championship, will all be honored.

“This was another outstanding year for our student-athletes, and we look forward to recognizing them for all of the hard work that went into making them champions both on and off the field,” Glover said through a news release.
