The Smyrna girls’ soccer team defeated Riverdale 3-2 Thursday night.

Sierra Hefner scored all three goals for Smyrna in recording a hat trick during the win.

The vvictory improved the Lady Bulldogs’ record to 4-0-1 (2-0 District 7-AAA) on the season.

Forrest 5, MTCS 2: The Lady Rockets took the first half lead 2-1 and added three-second half goals to defeat the Lady Cougars.

MTCS’ goals were scored by Ashlynd Wilkerson and Paige Willhite. Erin Jennings and Lauren Jennings recorded one assist each.

Stewarts Creek 6, Gallatin 0: In the team’s first home game, the Lady Red Hawks earned a shutout against the Lady Green Wave.

Katie Bain finished with a hat trick for SCHS. Other goals were scored by Marianna Ford, Kayla Head and Becca Morris.


Oakland 3, Stewarts Creek 0: The Lady Patriots won 25-7, 30-28, 25-19 in straight sets.

Rachel Todd finished with 12 kills and Cyrene Tankard added seven kills. Erynne Grubbs recorded 16 assists, while Keegan Reeves recorded 11 assists

Oakland improved to 2-4 in District 7-AAA.

Blackman 3, La Vergne 0: The Lady Blaze (5-1 District 7-AAA) won in straight sets 25-18, 25-9, 25-16.

Jess Oliver finished with 24 assists and three aces for Blackman. Teammate Kelsey Phillips finished with four blocks.

Ahria Rachell finished with five kills, while Danielle Ged, Tristyn Lozano and Jade Abbott added four kills each.

Riverdale 3, Smyrna 1: The Lady Warriors improved to 15-2 (4-1 District 7-AAA) on the season after a 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22 win Thursday.

Kirsten Inman recorded 33 assists and 12 service points, both of which led the team.

Beth Sullivan led the team with six aces. She also finished with nine service points total.

Dakyla Wells led the team in blocks with 11, while Ashleigh Lozier led the Lady Warriors with 14 kills.

MTCS 3, Grace Christian 1: The Lady Cougars outlasted by the score of 25-9, 25-15, 24-26, 25-23.

Rachel Mullen finished with 41 assists, while Morgan Mason added 18 kills.

Emma Self finished with seven aces and two blocks. McKenzie McKnight finished with six digs and 11 kills too.


Boys: DeKalb County 161, Central Magnet 163: Jordan Reynolds won low-medalist honors with a 38 and Colton Miller added a 39 for the Tigers at RiverWatch Golf Club.

Others contributing in the win were Austin Tipton (42) and Michael Chan (44).

Girls: Central Magnet 86, DeKalb County 93: Abbey Burgdors shot a 36 and Morgan Parks shot a 50 for the Lady Tigers.

Rock Springs 2, Smyrna 1: Goals were scored by Kaitlin Jones and Lexie Davis of Rock Springs in the win.

Oakland 3, Christiana 2: The Lady Patriots goals were scored by Faith Adams (2) and Taylor Cueno.
