DENVER – Gabbi Miranda, the senior from Mountain Vista high school, was named the Gatorade Colorado Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
Miranda helped lead Mountain Vista (18-1) to the 5A state championship, while scoring eight goals and adding five assists on the year. She also played a big role on defense, as Vista only allowed six goals to be scored on the entire year.
She was also a starter for the U.S. Soccer Under-17 Women’s National Team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan last fall, and according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, she is considered to be the No. 2 rated recruit in the class of 2013.
What may be even more impressive is the way Miranda excels in the classroom as well, maintaining a 3.91 GPA.
Miranda has committed to play soccer at UCLA next year, who finished the 2012 season ranked 6th in the country, losing to Stanford in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
