After giving up a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning to go down 4-2, fourth-seeded Toms River North scored three in the bottom half of the inning to win a dramatic 5-4 contest over fifth-seeded Vineland in the NJISAA South Jersey Group IV tournament.

With one out, Sam Salomon singled to center and went to second on a groundout off the bat of Kelly Cuthbert. Chrissy Ribaudo and Sam Reilly then earned back-to-back walks to jam the bases for Riley Vuyovich, who also walked to bring in Salomon and cut the deficit to a run. Brielle Perrotta then reached on an infield single to score Ribaudo with the tying run, and Reilly came in with the game-winner when winning pitcher Ashley Hussey singled as well.

North (18-7) scored its first two runs on an error in the first, but the Fighting Clan rebounded in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs to tie the game. Reilly finished 2-for-3 while Hussey allowed four hits and four walks and struck out three for the victory.
