No. 4 Pinelands moved out of the first round of the NJSIAA South Group III tournament with a 6-2 victory over 13th-seeded Oakcrest on Monday.

Brianna Wilson led the way for the Wildcats (21-6) with 4 RBI, including a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning that snapped a 2-2 tie.

Pinelands’ Naomi Stas also contributed to the offense with 3-for-4 performance and a run scored.

Emma Neuweiler picked up the victory on the mound, improving her record to 11-3.

SPOTSWOOD 7, POINT BORO 2: Point Boro’s Melissa Alfonso went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored as the Panthers (4-19) fell to the Chargers (19-3) in a Central Group II game. Nicole Dayton and Mary McKeon had first-inning RBIs for the Panthers.

SHORE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT:

TR NORTH 9, HENRY HUDSON 0: Toms River North’s Brielle Perotta recorded a 3-for-4 day at the plate, driving in a pair of runs and scoring two of her own, as the No. 9 Mariners (16-7) sailed past the No. 24 Admirals (10-9) in a first-round game.

The Mariners’ Ali Vandenberg struck out four in her first varsity win. Toms River North will play No. 8 Raritan in the round of 16.
