Defending champion South Plainfield is the top seed in the 2013 Greater Middlesex Conference Field Hockey Tournament.
East Brunswick, which fell one goal short to the Tigers in last year’s championship game, snagged the No. 2 seed. South Brunswick and Metuchen immediately followed suit, respectively.
The tournament will get under way with four quarterfinals games on Saturday. and will continue with the semifinals on Oct. 22. The final is slated for 6 p.m. on Oct 24, and it’s again to be played at East Brunswick High School’s Jay Doyle Field.
8-Piscataway at 1- South Plainfield; 5-Monroe at 4-Metuchen; 6-Sayreville at 3-South Brunswick; 7-Old Bridge at 2-East Brunswick.
