Flyway mini-meet at Lomira: The St. Mary’s Springs golf team continued its dominance this season with another first place as the Ledgers put up a 160 at The Golf Club at Camelot Thursday.
The Ledgers finished 21 strokes better than second place Winnebago Lutheran Academy, despite the Vikings’ Chris Colla shooting an even par 36 to earn medalist honors. Ledgers’ Nate Strigenz finished second with a one-over 37. Behind Strigenz, teammates Sean Ahern fired a 40, Brady Sarauer a 41, Patrick Treichel a 42 and David Joslyn a 43.
North Fond du Lac and Kettle Moraine Lutheran tied for third with a 184 while Mayville finished fifth. North Fondy was led by Cameron Kuehl (41) while the Cardinals Alex Chanto led the way with a 47.
Lomira (196) and Laconia (229) placed sixth and eighth. Mike Dean was a bright spot for the Lions as he shot a 40 — good for third overall.
