St. Mary’s Springs Invitational: The Springs boys’ and girls’ track and field teams continued its stellar seasons after winning their home invite on Tuesday. The boys won with 83 points while Omro finished in second with 62. North Fond du Lac/Horace finished third.
The girls won by a large margin wtih 198 points while Omro was second with 71. NFDL/Horace finished fourth with 11 points.
Springs’ girls won nine events, with Liz Bohn winning two in the 400-meter and the 3,200 while Abby Busse won the 1,600. Others who finished first inclued Megan McGovern (100-meter hurdles), Lizzy Leichtle (discus), Sami Grebe (long jump), Melanie Schneider (triple jump) and the 4×100 and 4×800 relay teams.
On the boys’ side, the Ledgers took home 12 events with Darin Ward taking four of them. Ward won the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, long jump and the triple jump.
Others who placed first include Ryan Grandlic in the 200 and 400, Alan Burkart in the 1,600 and Sam Schrauth in the shot put and discus. the 4×100, 4×400 and 4×800 relays also finished first.
