St. Mark's Mirabella named Delaware volleyball player of the year

By

St. Mark’s senior Abbie Mirabella has been named Delaware’s Volleyball Player of the Year and leads the All-State teams, which were determined by voting of the state’s head coaches.

Mirabella, who has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, led the Spartans to a 15-4 season and a third-place finish in the DIAA state tournament.

Padua seniors Jennifer Borio and Allyson Jennings were the only two teammates to make the All-State first team. The Pandas finished 19-0 and won their second consecutive state championship.

Other first-team members are A.I. du Pont senior Courtney MacDonald, Concord junior Emily Panchak, Charter of Wilmington senior Jordan Schoeneberger and Archmere senior Alexa Spence.
