The St. Philip boys’ basketball team gained some momentum heading into its Class D district tournament, picking up an overtime win on Friday night.
Led by Brent DeBree’s 20 points and 11 rebounds, the host Tigers held off Pittsford in the extra period, winning 65-63.
With the win, St. Philip improved to 12-8 on the season. Pittsford finished its regular season with a 17-3 record.
The Tigers were also led by Jon Niland with 10 points and five assists. Tyler Hubbard-Neil had 10 points and Dreyson English had eight points.
St. Philip opens district play at home on Wednesday against Kalamazoo Heritage Christian.

Colon 65, (at) Bronson 43: Bradley Brittingham had 20 points and nine rebounds in the Magi’s non-conference win on Saturday. Also for Colon, Arron Balizet had 19 points and 10 boards, and Tyler Schipper had 11 points and six rebounds. Bronson received 12 points, 14 rebounds and three assists from Mark Robinson, and 10 points from Eric Toledo.
(At) Albion 70, Stockbridge 51 (Fri.): Angus Bennett had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win for Albion in its regular-season finale. Also for the Wildcats (6-13), R.J. Haas had 16 points and seven rebounds while Matt Skinner had 10 points.
Mendon 59, (at) Union City 55, OT (Fri.): Emmett Fraley finished with a career-high 36 points to go with 16 rebounds, three assists, four blocks and two steals in the overtime loss to Class D sixth-ranked Mendon. Also for the Chargers (12-8), Brady Johnson had 10 points and six rebounds.

ronson 34 (Fri.): Skyler Sobeski had eight points, three rebounds and two steals in the Vikings’ season-ending loss. Also for Bronson (13-9), Kinslea Blouin had six points, Mallorie Bassage had 10 rebounds and Amberly Bercaw had nine boards.
