Standley Lake starts hockey season with a win

WESTMINSTER – In an exciting opening to the hockey season the Standley Lake Gators edged out Resurrection Christian 6-5 at the Ice Centre at the Promenade.

Topher Carroll lead all scorers with three goals while Andrew Coca scored two for the Gators. Tad Strohauer and John Tower each scored two goals for Resurrection Christian.

After a couple road games in Pueblo and Monument, Standley Lake will be back in town to take on Ralston Valley on Dec. 17 at the Apex Ice Arena. Ralston Valley beat the Gators in the second round of the 2012-13 Ice Hockey playoffs.
