State track: Wheelchair 100 draws record participation

By

A record seven participants competed in the state track 100-meter wheelchair race. It was the most since Iowa became the first state to adopt sanctioned title races in 1990.
The athletes: Jon Litzkow of Waterloo West, Sheldon Leazer of Ankeny, Jordan Houdeshell of Linn-Mar of Marion, Drake Sachsenmaier of Camanche, Tyler Jacobsen of Dunkerton, Austin Lee of Des Moines East and Kennedy Feller of Underwood.
Litzkow set records in two wheelchair races and won the 100, too. The senior also won the team championship for his school.
“When I was here my freshman year, I was the only one,” Litzkow said. “To go from one to seven is phenomenal.”
