12:23 p.m.: We’re about a third of a the way through the 3-A consolation round. Southeast Polk has pushed its medalist count to nine after Briar Dittmer and Aaron Meyer registered victories. Meyer trailed 4-0 to start the third period against Oskaloosa’s Nate Caves at 120.
11:09 a.m.: Southeast Polk is putting some distance between itself and the rest of the 3-A field. The Rams won seven of their 11 quarterfinal matches and picked up falls from Bryce Fisher at 220 and Jake Scanlan at heavyweight to finish the round with 75.5 points. Bettendorf is 19 back in second place.
10:42 a.m.: Indianola’s Matt Victor knocked off No. 1 Joel Northrup of Linn-Mar 2-1 in a tiebreaker.
10:36 a.m.: Bettendorf’s Logan Ryan topped Urbandale’s Colby Knight for the second time this season in a battle of the top two 132-pounders in the 3-A rankings. Ryan rode Knight out in the second before escaping and scoring a takedown in the third.
10:26 a.m.: Linn-Mar defending champ Matt Wempen topped No. 1 Bryce Meyer of Fort Madison 3-0 at 113. Wempen scored a takedown in the first period and fought off a couple attacks from Meyer.
10:01 a.m.: The first 3-A quarterfinal matches are about to begin.
9:04 a.m.: Good morning from Wells Fargo Arena. The Class 1-A quarterfinals are underway. The 3-A quarterfinalists will take the mat at the completion of this round. Southeast Polk starts the day with in first place in the 3-A team race with an 8.5-point lead over second-place Cedar Rapids Prairie.
