Steamboat Springs High School’s boys lacrosse team flexed its muscle in the second half, scoring eight goals and allowing just two while rolling to a 13-5 win over visiting Windsor in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
Steamboat Springs (13-3), the No. 6 seed, led 5-3 at halftime.
Senior Joe Sanger and freshman Hunter Hopp scored two goals apiece for Windsor (9-7), the No. 11 seed. Devin Ferris also scored a goal for the Wizards.
Steamboat Springs moves on to a quarterfinal game this weekend at No. 3 seed Cheyenne Mountain (15-2).
Cheyenne Mountain downed Summit 12-3 in its opener Wednesday.
