Stowe girls, MMU boys lead at alpine Northern districts

WARREN – After the first day of the Northern Vermont Athletic Conference’s Alpine high school skiing districts, the Stowe girls and Mount Mansfield boys sit atop the team standings.

With the giant slalom portion of the two-day event complete, districts will wrap up today at Lincoln Peak with slalom races

The Stowe girls have 44 points, just ahead of Mount Mansfield (51 points).

Harwood is in third with 56 points.

On the boys side, MMU (37) leads a pack that includes Lamoille (54) and CVU (67).

MMU’s Lucy Harrington was the girls winner in the two-run GS (1:35.27) while Cougar teammates Kyle Polson and Tristan Palola, went 1-2 in the boys race, respectively.

The state championships are next month — the girls are at Stowe on March 4; the boys travel to Okemo on March 6.
