Sweet Home Faces New Challenges

LOCKPORT, N.Y.-Sweet Home was one of six teams to participate in the annual Lockport scrimmage Saturday.

Panther head coach John Faller said “this is a high qaulity scrimmage so it kind of gives you a good indicator where you’re at going into your first game.”

Sweet Home lost in the New York State championsihp game last season. Faller knows its a long tough road to return to the Carrier Dome. “You want to win every game week by week and if you get to the playoffs, you take it from there. Getting to the state finals is something you never really expect, but you work hard for it. We were really honored to get there and we’re going to start over again with a new bunch of kids and see how far we’ll go.”

The Panthers start the season with a 60 game wining streak against Section 6 opponents. Faller said “it’s a good record to have, its competition so all the teams are out here to win. We know it won’t last forever but as long as it’s there, we’re going to keep pushing for it.”
