When the water polo team starts losing their body hair, that’s probably a good time to shut down the pool.
The swimming pool at Berkeley High School (Berkeley, Calif.) was shut down last week after players started experiencing burning eyes, bleached hair, and the loss of body hair.
Parents of the team revealed the symptoms, along with their concerns, to the school principal, who shut down the pool soon afterward and called for testing.
The pool water showed a pH level of 8.5 – pH levels should typically be between 7.2 and 8.0.
This is the second time the pool has been closed because of a chemical imbalance, Fox News reported.
