The St. Cloud Tech boys basketball team survived Willmar in overtime with a 64-62 win Monday night in a Central Lakes Conference game.

The Tigers (5-10 CLC, 8-17 overall) outscored the Cardinals 8-6 in the extra period after the game was tied at 56 at the end of regulation.

Tech’s Ryan Kunkel hit 3 of 4 free throws in overtime. Andy Foley led the Tigers with 18 points and Jake Martig had 15 points. Foley went 8 of 8 from the line.

Logan Doyle’s 26 points helped the Cardinals to the win at Apollo High School.

Brandon Bistodeau added 13 points for Alexandria. Brett Maslonkowski paced the Eagles (8-7 CLC, 13-12 overall) with 17 points. Isaac Rakke and Jeremy Koffi each had 11 for Apollo.

BRAINERD – The Warriors shot 52 percent from the field in their blowout win over the Spartans.

Brainerd shot 27 of 52 from the field and went 8 of 24 from three-point range. Rocori was 20 of 42 from the field and 5 of 13 from downtown.

The Spartans had 24 turnovers to the Warriors’ 13. Jonah Eisenschenk had 13 points for the Spartans. Jack Sauer led the Warriors with 18 points.

SAUK RAPIDS – The Storm fell to 2-23 overall and 1-14 in the CLC with the loss.

Ben Kieke led the Storm with 17 points and Riley Stockinger had 12 points. Reece Johnson led Fergus Falls with 14 points.

KIMBALL – The Cubs (11-13) went on a 13-0 run to end the game after leading 49-44 with 4:30 left.

Allie Seth led Kimball with 25 points. Cora Griffin had 17 points for the Johnnies (2-20).

UPSALA – Aimee Pelzer almost had a triple-double with 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, but Class A No. 9 Upsala (22-4) couldn’t overcome sixth-ranked Parkers Prairie.

Madison Dorn had 25 points to lead Parkers Prairie. Tracy Herzog had 19 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals.

B-B-E 72, W-H-N 30

BELGRADE – The Jaguars opened the Section 6A playoffs with a win over Wheaton-Herman-Norcross. Becca Gruber had 20 points for B-B-E. B-B-E is at Brandon-Evansville at 7 p.m. Thursday in the next round.

St. Cloud State 4-0, North Dakota 2-2

MINNEAPOLIS – The St. Cloud State baseball team split a doubleheader against Division I North Dakota on Monday morning at the Metrodome.

The doubleheader began at 7 a.m. The Huskies (7-2) won the first game 4-2 and lost 2-0 in the nightcap.

Scott Lieser earned the win in the first game. He went six-plus innings, struck out seven and gave up two runs on nine hits. Reese Gregory earned the save.

Brian Hansen had two hits, two runs and a triple in the first game, Sean Borman had a hit and RBI and Garrett Fischer had a hit and two RBI.

St. Cloud Cathedral graduate Andrew Thome took the loss for UND. Thome went six innings and gave up four earned runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking three.

Kyle Fischer took the loss in Game 2. He threw a complete game and gave up two runs on nine hits, striking out two. Garrett Fischer had two hits in the second game.
