The Telegraph-Forum sports staff recently selected its all-county football team. There were a number of talented players across Crawford County this season, many of who have already received North Central Conference honors and now have topped the T-F list.
Three of the top quarterbacks in the North Central Conference lead the way on the all-county first team skills list in Galion senior Dareian Watkins, Colonel Crawford senior Nate Klingenberger and Bucyrus junior Cole Murtiff.
The Redmen QB was the top passer in the league, finishing with 2,184 yards and 14 touchdowns. Both Watkins and Klingenberger led their teams to 9-1, NCC co-champion seasons, resulting in back-to-back playoff berths. Klingenberger finished the regular season with 1,585 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Watkins finished with 1,456 yards and 18 touchdowns and also finished as the first team punter.
Galion’s Conner Moreton was named first team kicker.
Tigers senior wide receiver Alex Armistad was named first team, finishing with 934 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Klingenberger’s top target, senior wide receiver Nick Adams, also made the list, finishing with 531 yards and seven touchdowns.
Buckeye Central running back Cody Roberts (871 yards, six touchdowns) and Bucyrus wide receiver Trent Niederkohr (541 yards, two touchdowns) also made the skills list.
First team offensive and defensive linemen include Wynford’s Cyle Skidmore and Zach Lear, Colonel Crawford’s Dakota Fulton, Alex Miller, Marcus Garverick, Ron Treisch and Austin Davis, Bucyrus’ Noah Graves and DJ Dagher and Galion’s Tristan Schroeder.
First team linebackers include Colonel Crawford’s Ashton VanMeter, Galion’s Nick Flowers, Bucyrus’ Justin Campbell, Buckeye Central’s Ross Martin and Crestline’s Austin Norwood. Defensive backs include Wynford’s Gage Roe and Galion’s Alex Armistad.
