School: Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, Tenn.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Defender/midfielder/forward
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 195 pounds

Athletic achievement: He has led The Big Red to a 12-0-1 record entering the Division II-AA state tournament, scheduled to begin May 17. Gill scored 10 goals and passed for nine assists through 13 games. A two-time Division II-AA All-State selection, he entered the state tournament with 36 goals and 22 assists in his prep soccer career.

Academic excellence: Gill has maintained a 3.88 GPA.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally as part of a fundraising campaign to benefit breast cancer research and as a youth soccer coach and referee.


“Trey has been a huge influence on the MBA team,” said Sandy Pollock, head coach of Centennial (Franklin, Tenn.). “Playing up top with his back to goal has been his strength since he is able to hold the ball, get other players into the game and create goals. He has been a major reason for MBA’s success this year.”

THE FUTURE: Gill has signed with South Carolina.
