Blake Kryling and Drew Ring finished their season 15-3 in doubles play as the Redmen duo downed the Tornadoes’ pairing of Mason McCool and John Obringer 6-1, 6-1 on Friday as Bellevue earned a Northern Ohio League win.
Bellevue’s Collin Covella won a first set tiebreaker 7-6 (2) before finishing off his opponent at No. 1 singles with a 6-3 win in the second set. He finished his year 12-6 at first singles, the same record Matt Poock had at third singles after Friday’s 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Tony Harper and Brent Runion earned the other point for the Redmen (15-3, 7-3), winning 6-4, 6-1 at second doubles. Harper had a final record of 15-2 while Runion was 13-5. Cody Henderson finished at 14-4 despite a three set loss to Columbian’s Braden Kuhn.
“Another nice win for us and a great way to finish the season,” Bellevue coach James Picciuto said. “I can’t express enough how proud I am of these guys, going 15-3 is a flat out terrific season. I can’t ask for more. I never would have dreamed we would get that much production from all spots on varsity.”
