JASON JORDAN’S WHAT I’M THINKING TODAY …
The more I think about how much players embellish their height the more fun it is to ask them how tall they are while standing face-to-face. That’s, almost always, one of my first questions and, it never fails, there’s always two-inch fabrication upward.
I remember talking to Wayne Ellington at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp back in 2006 and I was pretty much at eye level with him when he told me he was 6-foot-6.
It’s pretty comical.
I still don’t get why players feel the need to lie about it. Height in hoops is extremely overrated. Ask Charles Barkley (6-4), Spud Webb (5-6) or even high school star Aquille Carr (5-7).
It’s all about your ability and your motor.
If players worried as much about how hard they went at all times instead of that extra two inches more of them would reach their full potential.
WHAT I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF RIGHT NOW …
“I love Bugatti’s! Those are the best cars that were ever made.” – Miller Grove (Lithonia, Ga.) junior forward James Walker
