Introducing … Kelly Hunter
School: Papillion-La Vista South (Papillion, Neb.)
Year: Class of 2013
My dream job, outside of being a professional athlete, would be … You’re gonna laugh… I’d want to be a tiger trainer. I know; weird right?
If you’d see my iPod, you’d find … I prefer Pandora over an iPod. That way I get more variety.
I currently drive a … Ford Escape.
Someday, I’d like to be driving a … Range Rover.
The best part of my hometown is … That it’s small and safe. And we don’t have any traffic.
My dream city to be living in 10 years from now is … A small city in California for the weather. Not L.A. Just a little laid back city in California.
The ultimate compliment is when I get compared with … Anyone who plays for the U.S. National volleyball team. They’re all awesome!
If I could be teammates with one pro athlete in any sport, it’d be …. LeBron James.
If I could meet anybody, it would be … Victoria’s Secret models so I could ask them what their secrets are. They’ve got great bodies.
The websites I couldn’t live without are … Pinterest.com or tumblr.com.
The greatest meal ever is … Chicken pot pie. I can actually make it too.
Best movie of all-time is … Land of the Lost.
My can’t-miss TV show is … The Voice, Teen Wolf and Girl Code.
My favorite pro team is … I don’t like pro sports.
Worst thing about pro sports is … That girls get paid a lot less than boys. That’s not cool.
Best uniforms in sports belong to … Baseball players. I like their tight pants.
One thing my coach always says that I’ll never forget … Always go 100 percent all the time because if you don’t try you won’t get better.
I will consider myself a success when I … When I get to college if I can start as a freshman and go on to win the national title that would be a big deal.
If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d buy is … A car.
If I could tell one person thanks, it would be … My parents. For … Always putting up with me and giving me a lot of their time and attention.

JASON JORDAN’S WHAT I’M THINKING TODAY …
Why don’t basketball players catch shots instead of swatting them into the fifth row?
I know that’s random, but certainly by now you’ve developed some sort of love for my randomness.
Think about it; which is the smarter play? Definitely catching.
You stop the other team from scoring and retain possession all at the same time.
The obvious comeback is that the swat will get you the “oohs” from the crowd.
I get it, but, really, take 10 seconds to think about catching a shot in the air and coming down with it then kicking it out to the guard who starts the break.
Do you really think you’re going to hurt for “oohs?”
I think not.
There’s a common belief among “basketball heads” that hoops is 85 percent mental and the fact that players opt for the swat over the catch lets me know that hoops IQ isn’t exactly at its peak.
WHAT I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF RIGHT NOW …
“Barbecue Tabasco sauce on my burrito at Chipotle. No, seriously!” – Pickerington Central (Pickerington, Ohio) forward Jae’Sean Tate
