JASON JORDAN’S WHAT I’M THINKING TODAY …
The more I think about Princeton Day (Landham, Md.) point guard Aquille Carr heading overseas after graduation the more I wonder how well that will play out.
Everyone remembers when Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) point guard Brandon Jennings went to the Euroleague and averaged 7.6 points and 1.6 assists per game.
Jennings had a similarly flashy game like Carr, and often expressed how difficult it was getting acclimated to the culture.
Forget overseas, it takes a special person to leave their comfort zone and relocate to another state where they don’t know anyone in order to start a new job.
The silver lining is that Carr’s plan, obviously, is to have a one-year stint overseas like Jennings did.
That’s not out of the realm of impossibility, but it’s difficult.
However, if ever there was a player built to handle an adverse situation, it’s Carr. He’s been through a lot in the last few years and seems to have grown and matured from it.
He’s the guy who could pull it off.
Carr will play on the NBA Legends Tour that will run for two weeks throughout the month of June in China.
WHAT I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF RIGHT NOW …
“The motivational speaker guy Eric Thomas. That guy is awesome. He has me so ready to play before games. I’ve got the app and everything.” – Montverde (Montverde, Fla.) junior shooting guard D’Angelo Russell
