KUSA – Jessica Jackson, a junior outside hitter for Thomas Jefferson, verbally committed to play volleyball at Colorado State University this week.
Jackson helped the Spartans finish the regular season with a record of 23-1 and earn the No. 4 seed in the 4A state volleyball tournament. It also happens to be the first team from Thomas Jefferson to make the state tournament in school history and the first Denver Public School to make it in 29 years.
Jackson leads the Spartans in kills (400), attacks (855) and digs (231). She is third in kills in Colorado, only behind Haleigh Washington of Doherty (547), and Amanda Short of Skyview (386).
The CSU volleyball team is also making school history this year, as they have started the season with a perfect record of 22-0 and are currently ranked No. 10 in the country.
Thomas Jefferson will face Elizabeth in their first match of pool play Nov. 8 at the Denver Coliseum.
