(NEWS CENTER) – Thornton Academy’s Andrew Libby has already put some hardware in his closet as a junior, taking home the Gatorade/USAToday High School Sports Maine High School Football Player of the Year.
This weekend Libby took part in the Football University Camp in Boston and shined on the offensive side of the ball. Libby took home the Gatorade offensive MVP for FBU Boston and earned an Invite to FBU Top Gun Camp in Columbus, OH in late July. The Boston camp had offensive coaches such as former New England Patriots Running Back Robert Edwards, former San Diego Chargers Wide Receiver Wes Chandler and former Atlanta Falcons Wide Reciever Stacey Bailey. Some of the coaches Libby will be able to work with at Top Gun in Ohio include Billy “White Shoes” Johnson, former Patriots WR Harold Jackson and former 49ers WR Mike Wilson.
Libby returns to Thornton Academy in 2013 for his senior year.
