Three local coaching dignitaries will be enshrined into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame later this month.
Evangel University men’s basketball coach Steve Jenkins, Rogersville High School coach Rod Gorman and former Glendale coach Mike Keltner are among 10 coaches that will be inducted during an April 27 ceremony at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield.
Jenkins has coached at his alma mater Evangel for 31 years, and has a record of 587-404 (.592). He won an NAIA-II national championship in 2001-02, earning national coach of the year that season.
Gorman has been coaching at Rogersville for 17 seasons, and earned his 500th career victory this fall. The Drury University and Licking High School graduate is the AD at Rogersville, and also has coached at Festus and Cape Girardeau Central.
Keltner, a Hillcrest graduate and former player at Missouri State, coached Glendale for 15 years, reaching state twice and winning eight Ozark Conference championships. He stepped down from Glendale in 1999
