Tie brings Sartell boys soccer share of third at state

MINNEAPOLIS

Sartell and Waconia tied 2-2 Tuesday in the Class A third place game at the state boys soccer tournament at the Metrodome.

The two teams share third place. Sartell ended the season 16-3-3.

After a scoreless first half, Sartell jumped to a 2-0 lead on a Cullen Chisholm goal at 1:35 of the second half and a Ben Veitch goal 15 minutes later.

Waconia got on the board two minutes later with a goal by Charlie Spurbeck. Marcel Monteil tied the game five minutes later.

Sartell goalie Colin Johnson had nine saves.
