B.C. Central (1-7) vs. Loy Norrix (0-8), 7 P.M.
Scouting report: Loy Norrix is winless with a defense that has struggled, giving up 40-plus points in each of the last three games. BCC is 1-7 and has given itself a chance at wins in games the last three weeks. The Bearcats would like to end the season with a win and give the program something to build on as the JV squad is undefeated this season.
Great Gridder: Joe Bowser had a 33-yard TD run in loss to Marshall.
Harper Creek (6-2) vs. Gull Lake (3-5), 7 P.M.
Scouting report: The Beavers were able to throw the ball last week against a good Lakeview defense and expect to do that again vs. Gull Lake. Gull Lake has shown improvement the second half of the season, winning two of its last three games. Ryan Mutchler, who started the season at quarterback for Gull Lake, is now running the ball and had two touchdowns last week with Tyler VanderMolen throwing for a touchdown.
Great Gridder: Trevor Johnson had 101 yards rushing and 184 yards passing.
Lakeview (8-0) at Sturgis (5-3), 7 P.M.
Scouting report: Chance Stewart, a Division 1 prospect bound for Western Michigan, threw for 331 yards last week in a Sturgis win over Loy Norrix. The Trojans also had to see on tape how Harper Creek was able to move the ball against Lakeview through the air. However, Lakeview continues to dominate games on the ground and added its own quarterback to that attack as Skyler Nichols scored three times on quarterback keepers against Harper Creek.
Great Gridder: Skyler Nichols had 140 yards rushing and three TDs from QB spot.
Pennfield (7-1) at Constantine (5-3), 7 P.M.
Scouting report: Pennfield can clinch a share of the KVA title with a win over Constantine on the road. However, Constantine has been one of the tougher matchups for the Panthers over the years as Pennfield is 3-5 against the Falcons since 2005. After making it to the state finals the last two years, Constantine has taken a step back this year with three losses and needs a win to qualify for the postseason. Constantine hasn’t missed the playoffs since 1998.
Great Gridder: Dawan Smith had three first-half TDs for Pennfield.
St. Philip (8-0) at Lawrence (7-1), 7 p.m.
Scouting report: St. Philip has a chance at an undefeated regular season, but it will have to get past a tough Lawrence team that is in its first year in 8-man football. Lawrence actually played a mix of 11-man and 8-man football this season, but has rolled to a 7-1 year with its only loss coming to undefeated Peck. Lawrence is coming off an 88-48 win over Kingston two weeks ago and a 73-40 win over Carsonville-Port Sanilac.
Great Gridder: Trevor Searls had a blocked punt and 10 tackles for St. Philip.
