Let’s operate under the theory that there will be no more snow this week.
If the moisture dries up and there’s a reasonable amount of sun, someone is likely to get in something by Thursday.
If that’s the case, St. Cloud Apollo and Sauk Rapids are scheduled to play baseball at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bob Cross Park.
Apollo is coming off one of its best seasons, going 25-3 and making it to the Section 8-3A final, where the team lost to Bemidji.
The Eagles lost a lot of talent, but have a good core with seniors Brandon Bloch, T.J. Frericks, Jordan Keller and Eric Jarosch. Junior Ethan Carlson is a talent, as is sophomore Ben Alvord.
Sauk Rapids is coming off a 10-11 season, having its year end with a loss to Bemidji as well. The Storm have six seniors on their roster, including Tyler Long, Trevor Waldorf, Joel Haller, Clayton Douvier, Zach Silbernick and Justin Thorson.
Sauk Rapids also has Rocori on the schedule for Tuesday, but don’t count on it.
The lights went in at Bob Cross last summer and are a nice addition. Cross your fingers this one gets in.
