With Toms River South already waiting on the bottom of the bracket, Toms River North squared off against Jackson Memorial for a second time in a week, and the Mariners scored twice in the fourth and sixth innings to come away with a 4-0 victory in the Ocean County Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.

With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Sarah Culp, Brielle Cerchio and Chrissy Ribaudo each singled to load the bases for leadoff batter Sam Reilly, who drilled a double down the left-field line to bring in Culp and Cerchio and give the Mariners (12-2) a 2-0 lead.

In the fourth, again with the bases loaded after Sam Salomon and Culp bunted their way on and Reilly was given an intentional pass, Riley Vuyovich grounded a single through the middle to bring in one run, before winning pitcher Ashley Hussey was hit by a pitch to bring in North’s fourth run.
