Dan Cuthbert’s win at third singles helped No. 4 Toms River North upset top-seeded Mainland 3-2 in a NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV match on Thursday. Cuthbert secured the winning point of the match after he defeated Alex Nhan 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, sending the Mariners (22-6) to the Group IV sectional final.
Adam Lefkandinos also won his match at first singles for the Mariners after he defeated Ethan Fischer 6-4, 6-4. The Mariners third team point came at second doubles after Troy Fitzsimmons and Daniele Camilli defeated Martin Godar and Rithuik Mandalapu 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
The Mariners will play second-seeded Shawnee in their first sectional final since 2011 on Monday at 3 p.m.

CBA 3, NOTRE DAME 2: Anthony Deim won his match at second singles leading the top-seeded Colts over the No. 5 Irish in a Non-Public A semifinal match. Mark Robinson also secured a point at third singles for the Colts, winning his match 6-1, 6-0.
SHORE 5, POINT BEACH 0: Matt Resnikoff won his match at first singles leading the No. 6 Blue Devils over the No. 2 Garnet Gulls in a Central Jersey Group I semifinal match. Alex Holderness also won his match at second singles for the Blue Devils after he defeated Matt Manhheimer 6-0, 6-1.
HOLMDEL 5, MONMOUTH 0: Mike Chen won his match at first singles leading the top-seeded Hornets (26-1) over No. 5 Falcons (13-6) in a Central Jersey Group II semifinal. Derek Liu also picked up a point at second singles after he defeated Vanni Roa 6-0, 6-0.

SHORE 18, MAPLE SHADE 12: Maddy Norman scored four goals as the No. 4 seed Blue Devils (8-11) defeated the No. 13 seed Wildcats (8-11) in a NJSIAA South Group I game.
The Blue Devils scored 13 goals in the first half and added four more in the second half to secure the win. Nikki DeScenza and Claudia LaMarca each scored three goals and had one assist.
Allison Vallen led the Wildcats with four goals and had one assist.
TR SOUTH 15, KINGSWAY 8: Macy Scott scored six goals and broke the school season record with her 100th goal to lead the No. 4 seed Indians (15-2) past the No. 13 seed Dragons (5-12) in a South Group III first round game.
Scott has 258 career goals, and is ten goals shy of the school record. Addy Pollioni scored four goals, and Laura Kurzynowski scored three goals for the Indians.
Jackie Neary scored three goals, and Taylor Gretz scored two goals for the Dragons.
OCEAN TWP. 12, OCEAN CITY 11: Jenna Gilman scored seven goals including the game-winning goal in the first segment of overtime to lead the No. 8 seed Spartans (16-5) past the No. 9 seed Red Raiders (15-4) in the South Group III first round game.
The Spartans were trailing 8-4 at halftime, but rallied back in the second half to outscore the Red Raiders 7-3 to force overtime.
Tess Solazzo scored seven goals and had one assist for the Red Raiders.
MAINLAND 14, LACEY 13: Lauren Salemme scored five goals and had two assists but the No. 7 seed Lions (13-5) fell to the No. 10 seed Mustangs (13-2) in a South Group III first round game.
After leading 7-6 at halftime, the Mustangs offense outscored the Lions 8-6 for the comeback victory. Holly Brewster scored three goals, and Maura Weaver scored two goals and had two assists for the Lions.
Anna Gordon led the game with six goals and two assists for the Mustangs.
MANASQUAN 15, PAUL VI: Jojo Reilly, Kathleen Gerard, and Amanda Hagaman each scored three goals as the No. 5 seed Warriors defeated the No. 12 seed Eagles (2-10) in a South Group II first round game.
The Warriors scored nine goals in the first half and held the Eagles offense to one goal in each half for the win. Manasquan’s Kat Wallace scored two goals and had two assists.
Michelle Hallman scored one goal, and goalie Jordan Callahan made two saves for the Eagles.
COLTS NECK 16, CENTRAL 9: Kylie Allmers scored four goals and had one assist to lead the No. 6 seed Cougars (16-4) past the No. 11 seed Golden Eagles (11-5) in a South Group III first round game.
Kelsey Burns scored three goals and had one assist. Erika Keselman and Meg Farrell each scored two goals.
Central’s Amanda Carolan and Heather Smith each scored three goals.
FREEHOLD TWP. 17, HOWELL 8: Dominique Anselmin scored a game-high eight goals and had two assists to lead the No. 9 seed Patriots (11-6) past the No. 8 seed Rebels (11-7) in a South Group IV first round game.
The Patriots led 9-6 at halftime and outscored the Rebels 8-2 in the second half to complete the upset. Nicole Torres, Carli Dixon and Taylor Hoskins each scored two goals for the Patriots.
Maria Madsen, Jordan Chan, and Amanda Mauro each scored two goals for the Rebels.

JACKSON MEMORIAL 18, MARLBORO 2: Evan Farrar had five goals and two assists, Troy Wolf had four goals and one assist and Mike Balsamo had two goals and three assists as the No. 2 seed Jaguars (13-2) defeated the No. 15 seed Mustangs (6-11) in an NJSIAA South Group IV game.
Marlboro’s Sam Sugarman and Jake Metzger each scored a goal and goalie Richard Franco made nine saves.
HOWELL 14, HIGHTSTOWN 10: Alec Dambach had four goals and five assists and recorded his 300th career point as the Rebels (11-7) defeated the Rams (4-11) in a nonconference game. Dambach got his 300th career point on an assist on Mark Buannic’s goal in the third quarter and now has 303 career points (139 goals, 164 assists). Buannic finished with five goals and Jake Sherman had three goals and one assist. Goalie Tyler Ornstein made 10 saves.
RED BANK 12, MONROE 11: Wylie Bogdon scored the game-winning goal with 35 seconds left as the Bucs (8-9) defeated the Falcons in a nonconference game. Bogdon finished with that one goal while Max Paris had three goals and one assist and Jake Smolokoff had two goals.
