Two Rivers’ Dexter Smith and Scott Skornicka combined for 405 yards rushing as the Raiders routed visiting Waupun on Friday 46-28.
Smith and Skornicka each ran the ball 26 times for 213 and 192 yards, respectively, while Smith scored three times to Skornicka’s pair of touchdowns.
When the first quarter ended, the Raiders (4-1, 2-1 Eastern Wisconsin Conference) were up 28-7 and 40-14 as Smith ran it in from 41 and 31 yards while completing for a 48-yard touchdown pass to Bobby Geiger, his first of two passing scores on the night. Skornicka also rumbled in from 23 yards out.
The second touchdown pass of the night by Smith, this time for 10 yards to Ethan Willman, got Two Rivers going in the second quarter before Skornicka took it in from just outside the goal line. Willman ended the night with three catches for 21 yards and Geiger hauled in two for 57 while Smith completed 8-of-10 for 94 yards.
The Raiders took a 40-14 lead into the half and never looked back.
Smith’s seven-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter capped the scoring for Two Rivers and put the hosts up 46-14 before the Warriors tacked on two touchdowns in the fourth to narrow the final margin.
In total, the Raiders accumulated 556 yards of offense compared to 395 for the Warriors. On the defensive end, Willman and Skornicka each had seven solo tackles to lead the team while Willman and Smith also had an interception apiece.
Two Rivers hosts Kiel next Friday.
