Danbury’s Katie Almendinger vaulted seven feet to win the girls pole vault, just in front of teammate Alexis Dayton as the two helped the Lakers to a fourth-place finish at Friday’s Toledo Area Athletic Conference championships.
Tori Wright added a first for Danbury in the discus (110-10) in the discus and was second in the girls shot put. Alyssa Almendinger was second in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles while Lindsay Mark took third in the 100 hurdles. Erin Lavelle was fourth in the high jump, Alexis Williams fifth in the discus.
Toledo Christian topped Gibsonburg 16-135 for the girls team title.
James Dorko won the pole vault (10-00) and was second in the 110 hurdles for the Danbury boys who were fifth in the meet won by Gibsonburg.
Cody German was third for the Lakers in the 110 and 300 hurdles and fourth in the 200 dash while Austin Morin took third in the discus and fourth in the shot put.
