Under The Lights Invitational: Winneconne’s Ashleigh Jones won both the shot put and discus and Lourdes Academy’s Hunter Neuens finished first in the long jump to highlight the Under the Lights meet which ended late Friday on J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium
Neuens added a third-place in the 100 meters and was a part of the Knights second-place 400-meter relay team along with Michael Baudhuin, Dylan Sommerfeld and Josh Kalmus.
Sommerfeld added a second place in the discus and a fifth place in the shot put for the Knights and Lucas Weber was fifth in the 1,600 meters.
The Lourdes girls were led by their distance runners, who placed two finishers in the top five in both the 1,600 and 3,200.
Maeve McDonald was second in the 1,600 meters, while Nora Keller was fourth. In the 3,200, it was Keller leading the way in fourth followed by Abby Moore.
Other top individual finishers for the Lourdes girls were: Crystal Combs, third in the 400; Maddy Reed, fourth in the 800 meters; and Mady Engstrom, fourth in the shot put.
Lourdes also finished third in the 3,200-meter relay with a team of Combs, Keller, Angela Moore and Abby Moore, and were fourth in the 1,600-meter relay with the team of Combs, Reed, Allison Resop and Angela Moore.
Jones won the discus title by more than 14 feet, while edging teammate Abby Luedtke for the win in the shot put. Carly Christian was third in the discus for the Wolves.
The Winneconne boys had a pair of top five relay teams to lead its finish.
Nick Vanden Langenberg, Zach Henderson, Zach McDonald and Luke Flunker combined to take third in the 800-meter relay, while the quartet of McDonald, Vanden Langenberg, Henderson and Brian Witkowski was fifth in the 1,600-meter relay.
Sam Engel added a fourth place in the 3,200 meters, while Henderson was fifth in the 200 meters.
Luke Geffers was the top finisher for Valley Christian, placing third in the 3,200 meters and fifth in the 1,600 meters.
