USA TODAY High School Sports is hosting another “Best Of” contest. This time, fans can vote on the Best High School Football Coach.
Eight coaches were selected per state. The top coach in each state will move onto regionals, which will then be followed by a national round. The contest ends on Oct. 29.
From Nevada, here are the coaches selected: Lowry’s Tim Billingsley; Carlin’s Myron Branning; The Meadows’ Frank DeSantis; Pahranagat Valley’s Ken Higbee; Moapa Valley’s Brent Lewis; Pershing County’s Dave McLean; Liberty’s Rich Muraco; and Bishop Gorman’s Tony Sanchez.
State voting ends at 9 a.m. Oct 8. The regional round begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 9 and ends at 9 a.m. Oct. 18. National voting is from 9 a.m. Oct. 21 through 9 a.m. Oct. 29. The winner will be determined by the amount of votes in the final round.

The athletic department of the winning coach will receive $2,000. Second through fifth places receive money, as well: $1,000 for second, $500 for third, $250 for fourth and $100 for fifth. Each of the eight finalists will receive a banner for their school.
