Corinne Jones scored two goals Monday, both off assists from Emily Walther, as the 22nd-seeded Middlesex High School girls soccer team blanked No. 23 J.F. Kennedy 3-0 in the play-in round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament.

Katie Nicholson also scored for the Blue Jays (4-11), who will visit No. 11 seed Woodbridge on Wednesday. Clare Lewis made eight saves and Jackie Soper turned aside five shots for the Mustangs (4-13).

Timothy Christian 5, South Amboy 0: Sabrina Solorzano scored three goals, before moving to keeper and making two saves, as 19th-seeded Timothy Christian advanced.

Rebekah Aviles, who also made a save in net to share the shutout, joined Mary Heffner in scoring a goal for the Tigers (11-4-1), who will visit 14th-seeded Piscataway on Wednesday.

No. 26 seed South Amboy fell to 0-15.

In regular season girls soccer

Somerset Tech 8, Hudson Catholic 0: Julia Heller scored two goals, and Hannah Lukac and Abby Manuel each tallied their first varsity goals to lead Somerset Tech.

Lukac also added two assists in the victory, while Harleen Singh and Victoria Shahinian each contributed a goal and an assist for the Jags (15-5).

Pingry 8, Montclair Kimberly 0: Alexa Ferreira tallied two goals and an assist, and Tanika Roach added two goals to power Pingry. Rachel Corboz added two goals for the Big Blue (9-4-1), while Lexi Chang and Julia Rotatori each chipped in with two assists.

Manville 6, Trenton 0: Olivia Smutek netted two goals, and Nataly Brito added a goal and an assist to lead Manville.

Shea Raver distributed two assists for the Mustangs (6-9-1), who also got goals from Mariana Munoz, Jessica Ramirez and Megan Nash.

Hillsborough 2, Sayreville 0: Arielle Curtis and Carly Swetz scored goals to lead Hillsborough.

Kelly Raub made 15 saves for Sayreville.

Boys soccer

Hunterdon Central 2, Governor Livingston 0: John Goodwin and Max Gomez scored goals, and David Hallam and Cameron Zell combined for three saves and the shutout to pace Hunterdon Central (13-2-3).

Jake Topor made seven saves for Governor Livingston (11-4).

Piscataway Tech 3, Somerset Tech 0:Celin Rojas scored two goals and Sonny Garcia added another to power Piscataway Tech (11-4). Uriel Vasquez added two assists for the Raiders (11-4), while Josh Trapp made six saves for the shutout.

Chris Geissler stopped 11 shots for the Runnin’ Jags (7-9).

Timothy Christian 6, Woodbridge Academy 1: Matt DiLeo scored three second-half goals and David Figueroa posted a goal and three assists for Timothy Christian (14-2).

Field hockey

Franklin 5, Ranney 0: Jada Foster opened the scoring and Chylah Gavin posted her first goal of the season off of an assist by Ebun Osuntuyi with 12:55 left in the first half.

Osuntuyi added her own goal 6:11 into the second half.

Tonyea Byrd scored twice in the second half, both unassisted, as the Warriors improved to 6-9.
