Grade: Senior
Position: Forward
Height: 6-foot-8
Weight: 215 pounds

Athletic achievement: Wiggins averaged 23.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.5 assists per game this past season, leading the Express to a 30-3 record and a No. 7 spot in the USA TODAY Super 25 national rankings. Also the 2012 Gatorade State Boys Basketball Player of the Year, Wiggins won the Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year award and was a finalist for the national Morgan Wootten Player of the Year award. He has been selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic and the McDonald’s All-American Game and is rated the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2013 by ESPN, Scout.com and Rivals.com. 

Academic excellence: Wiggins has maintained a B average while completing his high school curriculum at St. Joseph’s Central Catholic.

Exemplary character: In addition to participating in multiple charity fundraiser initiatives, Wiggins has volunteered locally by visiting patients at the Cabell Huntington Hospital for children. He has also volunteered for free basketball clinics for low-income Huntington youthand the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation.


“He’s very explosive on the break and he’s nearly impossible to guard in the half court with his post-up ability and length,” said Jordan Fair, head coach at Oldsmar Christian School (Fla.). “I think he’s the best high school basketball player in the country.” 

THE FUTURE: Wiggins remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
