Position: Forward
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 170 pounds

Athletic achievement:He scored 49 goals and passed for 12 assists this past season, leading the Redskins (23-0-1) to the Class AAA state title. Thompson was the West Virginia High School Soccer Coaches Association Class AAA Player of the Year and was named captain of the Class AAA All-State team by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.    

Academic excellence: Thompson has maintained a B-plus average.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of a nursing home and has also donated his time at youth soccer clinics.


“Thompson really had an impact on West Virginia high school soccer,” said Dan Fosselman, head coach at Parkersburg (W.Va.). “We don’t get many players of his skill and tactical awareness. He was something very special.”

THE FUTURE: Thompson remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
