Wrestling: SPASH at Wisconsin Rapids, 7:30 p.m., Thursday: For the longest time, the Raiders have had the upper hand in this rivalry and at times it has been lopsided. The Panthers beat Rapids for the first time in recent history in 2008 and then repeated the feat last year. SPASH finished third in the Valley and Rapids fourth in the final conference standings. Patrick Spray and Beau Thompson are the Raiders’ returning state qualifiers, while Mitch Mallek returns for SPASH.

Boys basketball: Marshfield at Stevens Point, 7:45 p.m., Friday: The Panthers are off to a 4-1 start, including a 70-33 win over Wausau East on Dec. 6 to open Wisconsin Valley Conference play. The lone loss came at the hands of state ranked Neenah 63-44 on Nov. 26. The Panthers are paced by the sophomore duo of Trevor Anderson and Sam Hauser, who are averaging 17.2 and 16.2 points a game, respectively. Marshfield is off to a 2-2 start, including a 56-37 win over Wausau West in its Valley opener.

Boys hockey: Waunakee at Stevens Point, 7 p.m., Saturday: The Panthers have gotten off to a rough 1-3 start, including a 4-2 loss to Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha on Dec. 6, having scored just five goals in the three losses. The lone win was a 9-3 drubbing of Baraboo on Nov. 29. Waunakee has been up and down all season alternating between wins and losses en route to a 3-2 record, with the latest outcome being a 9-1 win over McFarland on Dec. 6.
