Whitney Point's Jordan Torbitt wins title at national wrestling meet

Whitney Point freshman Jordan Torbitt won his weight class as several Section 4 wrestlers competed at the 24th Annual National High School Coaches Association Wrestling Championships on Saturday.

Wrestlers were divided by academic class and weight class.

Torbitt won the 152-pound class with a 10-0 decision over Dean Drugac (NJ).

Reggie Williams, a Johnson City junior was the runner-up at 195, losing a tight match 5-3 in overtime to Chance McClure (Ga.).

Waverly junior Ryan Wolcott placed fourth at 220, and Newark Valley junior Derek Holcomb placed seventh at 152.
