SEYMOUR – Brian Heiden made two free throws to give Seymour a four-point lead and the Thunder defeated Plymouth 62-61 on Saturday in a WIAA Division 2 regional final boys basketball game.

Plymouth hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for the final margin.

“It was a great high school basketball game,” said Seymour coach Jon Murphy, who got his 500th career win.

Sandy Cohen scored 18 of his 25 points in the first half for Seymour (20-4). Heiden and John Powless each finished with 10 points.

CRANDON – Third-seeded Oconto made 14 of its 20 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to seal the victory over top-seeded Crandon.

Conner Moe led the way with 14 points and Trent Mehlberg added 12 for the Blue Devils, who will play Amherst in a sectional semifinal on Thursday at D.C. Everest.

Adam Flannery had 10 points to lead Crandon.

Austin Guarniere had nine points for Wausaukee, which led by eight after the opening frame.
