Hortonville swept Green Bay East in three sets in a WIAA girls’ volleyball Division 1 regional semifinal in Hortonville on Thursday.

The Polar Bears dispatched the Red Devils 25-9, 25-18, 25-21 to advance to Saturday’s regional final.

Erika Engen and Emily Lautenschlager led Hortonville with 24 assists and 22 digs, respectively.

Hortonville leaders: Erika Engen 24 assists, 9 digs; Madi Walter 3 aces, 13 digs, 8 kills, 5 blocks; Emily Lautenschlager 22 digs; Megan Turkow 7 kills, 8 blocks; Mackenzie Thiel 7 kills.

Kimberly 3, Kaukauna 0

At Kimberly, the Papermakers swept past the Ghosts, winning 25-17 in every set. Madi Surprise led the way with 19 assists, six kills and six digs.

Haley Huss had 15 digs for Kaukauna.

Manitowoc 3, Menasha 0

At Manitowoc, the Ships eliminated the Bluejays 25-17, 25-10, 25-11.

Mallory Dixon led the Ships with 24 assists and 10 digs, while teammate Stephanie Winans added team highs in kills (seven) and blocks (four). Sarah Greene had a team-high five aces, along with four kills.

Menasha leaders: Jazz Belknap 4 kills; Bri Lee 2 kills; Zoe Bush 2 kills; Becca Konetzke 4 assists; Becca Schramm 2 blocks.

Pulaski 3, Appleton West 1

At Pulaski, the Red Raiders bounced back from losing the first game to defeat the Terrors 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17.

Leading the way for Appleton West were Emily Leadley with 10 digs, Jenny Rechner with 26 assists and 18 digs, Haley Thomson with nine kills and nine digs and Sarah Johnshoy with 11 kills.

Division 2

Little Chute 3, Winneconne 1

At Little Chute, Anna Biese had 17 kills, 12 assists and nine digs to help lead the Mustangs get past the Wolves.

“The first set started off a bit slow, but when the girls started to click a bit and got aggressive, we were too much for Winneconne to handle,” Little Chute coach Whitney Evers said. “We served tough and got our middles involved more than we have all season, which really opened up our offense.

“Defensively, our back two picked up a lot of balls and made it difficult for Winneconne to score. All around good match for the Mustangs.”

At Appleton, the Foxes got all they could handle from the Comets in the first game but went on to win in three 26-24, 25-17, 25-12.

Abby Radue led FVL with 33 assists.

At Appleton, McKenzie Calmes had 27 assists and Libby Gill added six kills, two blocks, three digs and five aces to lead the Hawks to a sweep of the Cardinals.

Grace Schlicht added 10 kills, five blocks and three aces, while Jenna DeShaney had seven kills, two blocks and five digs.

Xavier def. Mayville 25-13, 25-19, 25-11.

At Wrightstown, the Tigers swept the Vikings 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.

Kayla Chosa led the way with 15 kills and eight blocks.

Plymouth 3, Chilton 1

At Plymouth, the Tigers won the first game but dropped the next three, getting eliminated by the Panthers 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Oconto Falls 3, Seymour 0

At Oconto Falls, the Thunder fell to the top-seeded Panthers in three games 25-17, 25-18, 25-15.

Division 3

St. Mary Central 3, Shiocton 1

At Shiocton, the third-seeded Zephyrs knocked out the second-seeded Chiefs 25-22, 25-13, 22-25, 25-23.

The Zephyrs had three players in double digits with digs. Kennedy Spiegelberg led with 27 digs, while Kourtney Buelow and Liz Wallace had 24 and 20, respectively.

St. Mary Central leaders: Kayla Van Dyke 18 kills; Liz Wallace 10 kills, 20 digs; Kennedy Spiegelberg 27 digs; Nicole Minton 19 assists; Kourtney Buelow 24 digs.

Lourdes 3, Weyauwega-Fremont 0

At Oshkosh, the Indians were swept 25-19, 25-15, 25-18.

At Hilbert, the Wolves rolled in straight sets 25-10, 25-14, 25-15.

April Gehl sparked Hilbert with seven assists, eight kills and four blocks.
