WIAA volleyball roundup: Lincoln sweeps Menasha, advances to regional final (Updated)

Host No. 3 Manitowoc Lincoln made short work of No. 14 Menasha in three games on Thursday in the WIAA State Girls Volleyball Division 1 regional semifinal by scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-11.

Mallory Dixon led the Ships with 24 assists and 10 digs while teammate Stephanie Winans added team highs in kills (seven) and blocks (four). Sarah Greene also had a team-high five aces along with four kills.

Lincoln hosts No. 6 Slinger on Saturday with a spot at sectionals on the line.

Division 2 Sheboygan Falls 3, Kiel 1

The No. 10 Raiders couldn’t pull off a second upset, falling to the host No. 2 Falcons 15-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-22 in the D2 regional semifinal.

Kiel was up 21-10 in the decisive Game 4, but Falls was able to mount a furious comeback to win.

Alyssa Summers paced the Raiders with 16 assists while teammate Mia Voland added 13 assists of her own and team highs in aces (seven) and kills (12).

Division 3 St. Mary’s Springs 3, Manitowoc Lutheran 1

The No. 5 Lancers won Game 1 25-18 before dropping the next three to the host No. 4 Ledgers 26-24, 25-23, 25-22 to fall in the D3 regional semifinal.

Arianna Neumeyer had 16 kills and 16 assists for Lutheran.

Mackayla Menges recorded 16 kills of her own to go along with 11 digs. Kaitlin Radue had a team-high 25 digs, while racked up Heidi Moldenhauer 18 assists.

Oostburg 3, Reedsville 0

The visiting No. 8 Panthers were swept by the No. 1 Flying Dutchmen 25-9, 25-16, 25-20.

Howards Grove 3, Valders 0

The No. 10 Vikings run ended against the host No. 2 Tigers, who swept Valders 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.
