A pair of preseason American Family Insurance ALL-USA team selections — one from the boys' basketball team and one from the girls' basketball team — were honored today.

Huntington (W.Va.) Prep forward Andrew Wiggins was named the Naismith high school basketball player of the year, while Norcross (Ga.) shooting guard Diamond DeShields was named the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association high school player of the year. DeShields, who is averaging 26 points and 7 rebounds per game, is committed to North Carolina. Wiggins remains uncommitted.

Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) coach Quincy Lewis was named the Naismith high school coach of the year, while St. Mary's (Phoenix, Ariz.) coach Curtis Ekmar was named the WBCA girls' basketball coach of the year.
