Wildcats Prepare for Bulldogs

DEPEW, N.Y.-Friday night Depew hosts Alden at 7:30. Both teams are unbeaten. Depew is 15-4 the past few years with all four losses coming against Alden.

Wildcats head coach Brian Wilson told Stu Boyar “as far as we’re concerned this is another league opponent and they’re in our way toward one of our goals and that’s winning a league championship.”

When watching the Bulldogs on tape Wilson said one thing really jumped out at him. “Despite losing the players that they did they have that swagger, that championship swagger. That’s what you notice on film. They play winning football. Doesn’t matter if they have to come back and do it or if they were on top of somebody. They don’t make a lot of mistakes and they got it. They’re a championship football team and that impresses me.”

The Wildcats lost senior quarterback Anthony Buono for the season to an injury. Dylan Sekuterski has taken over for him the team hasn’t missed a beat. Senior Rodney Turner told Stu “we knew he was going to come in and control the team and I think he did a very amazing job at taking control and being the leader that he can be at such a young age. He’s doing amazing for us.” Big Brother Derek said “I’m real proud of Dylan. I thought he came in last week and worked hard but as a team I think we have great chemistry and leadership and we never really missed a beat.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm Friday at Depew.
