Wilford's steal sends Eaglecrest past Regis Jesuit

By

Eaglecrest beat Regis Jesuit 64-57 in a Great 8 game Friday night at the Denver Coliseum.

TreShawn Wilford made the play of the game. Late in the 4th Wilford came out of nowhere and stole the ball away from Regis’ Josh Perkins. Wilford raced to the other end of the court for a basket and an intentional foul, which meant 2 free throws and another possession. After sinking 1 of 2 free throws the Raptors were fouled again and hit 2 more. It all added up to a 5 point possession late in the game and the Raiders never recovered.

A 56-55 game quickly turned in to a 61-55 game. The Raptors went on to win 65-57 and advance to their 2nd Final 4 in school history.
