Swimming, diving second in league meet

The Williamston/Lansing Christian swimming and diving team took second place behind Mason in the CAAC Red league meet on Nov. 9.

The team totaled 324.5 combined points, over 100 points ahead of third place Corunna.

Sopohmore Allie Heineman took first in the 100 freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 56.32 and tied for first in the 50 freestyle.

Hornet volleyball team falls in district finals

Despite a tough five-game match, the Hornets volleyball team fell to Fowlerville in district finals on Nov. 7.

Williamston took the first game, 25-17, but Fowlerville came back and won the second and third games, 25-18 and 25-14, respectively.

The Hornets fought to take the fourth game win, 25-22, but Fowlerville ultimately took the fifth game and the match, 18-16.

Sophomore Renee Sturm contributed five aces and 21 kills and senior Ella Kraft added 31 digs.
